Why come to Tanzania?
While safaris are offered in many countries including South Africa, Botswana and Kenya we believe Tanzania includes the best of everything. It is a very stable country with none of the political unrest that has existed elsewhere. 25 % of the country is protected for wildlife. Tanzania’s diversity stretches from classic wildlife filled savannah to lush forests, showy mountains, warm beaches, coral reefs and the historical Spice Islands of Zanzibar.”) Tourism is a major industry in Tanzania accounting for almost 20% of Tanzania’s gross domestic product and now averages about 1 million tourists a year many who include a safari on their visit.

What about malaria and other diseases?
Vaccination requirements change from time to time. We suggest you consult your local doctor or health department for information on the latest health precautions. Currently, shots against Yellow fever are required. As a precaution and preventative measure we usually advise anti-malarial drugs to be taken. Your exposure to these diseases is very low while on safari and most people go home 100% healthy. Also, if you are on prescription medication, please ensure you have an adequate supply to last the duration of your stay and a copy of your prescription(s).

Do I have to worry about bugs and snakes?
No. While there are the occasional fly or mosquito the areas we travel are relatively bug free. As for snakes, you are not wandering around in tall grass and they avoid heavily trafficked areas so there are no worries.

Is it expensive?
If you travel in the United States or Europe you pay for your hotel, all your food, your travel, entrance fees to parks and museums, and the cost of all your activities. Thus, while each one may not feel like a lot when you add them all up together the trip you felt was such a good deal turns out not to be that great of a bargain. Our trips are all inclusive. What that means is that all your accommodations, all your food, all internal transportation, park fees, guide fees and the like are included in the price. The only things not included are international airfare, drinks, tips, souvenirs and incidentals. When analyzed you will see that the price of our trip is about the same as a good hotel and three meals a day in the United States but with wildlife, unbelievable sites, unforgettable experiences and the opportunity to do something very few people will have the chance to do – kayak in Africa.
